During this holidays, I went to Kinokuniya bookstore in Takashimaya with my tutor. She suggested me to read some poems, not only reading books because i wanted to learn new writing style and languages . She recommended this poem called "My Dishwater Days". It is about the poet own past life.

When I read this poem, I could notice that her writing style is unique. As you can see the title of poem 'Dishwater days", she represented her memories of the past which are dull and insignificant, fit to be thrown away. There was one sentence that I had to think for a long time. 'the ore I sometimes find' - I couldn't really understand this sentence first so I had to research on the internet. It meant the memories that are worth keeping. I am pretty sure it was not easy to make use this elaborate comparison in poetry. But, I want to try this language styles for my own writings.

Describe the main character. How is she/he like or unlike you? How interesting is she/he to read about?
I was soaked into this poem and when I understand all the means what the poet tried to tell, I read this once more. The main character in it is the poet, herself. She says that valuable metal make you remember the whole thing. It it inside your storage. I could compeletely understood this sentence because whenever I go to overseas for vacation, I usually think in that ways.

I was bored reading only novel book, so i decied to read article and write down a journal about it. There was an attractive article in entertainment section which is called 'Blog Shop Booming in Countdown' It was pretty interesting to me and it was the new information.

Even this article was intersting, some parts were pretty boring. For example, there were so much information which is like three blog shops. We can understane what blog shope is with one example. I felt boring and wasting time while i was reading that part. Ont the other hand, descriptions of items were great.

I started reading this book after I have watched Twilight in a screen. Actually, I havent finished yet, and i am on chapter 14. This is much bettern than I expected. NEW VOCABULARY: 1) Clenched - closed or holded tightly

    2) Confess - to admit that you have done something bad or wrong

The first page, the opening, attracted me to keep reading. It was unique. It was written of what the character was wearing in the first paragraph of the first chapter. Also, there was no difficult word on the first page.

There are two main characters in this story. One of them called Bella, moved to a small town. Actually, she was not popular in the school that she's used to attend, but she beacem famous in the new school. Moreover, three boys asked her go out and they wanted to go to spring dance together. However, Bella rejected all three then she goes out with Edward Cullen who is a vampired. He can read people's mind. The Cullens, his all family, are vampires and they dont prefer that Edward goes out with Bella who is a human because it can be dangerous. They. vampires, are not getting old forever. One more thing that is different from people is they dont eat food.

Lion Boy

"Lion Boy- The chase by Zizou Corder"

Rating: ★★★★☆
Title: Lion Boy - the chase
Edited by: Zizou Corder
Genre: advanture

During the lesson in English, Ms. Farrer handed out all book text each person, also she gave me one text that is called Lion Boy- The chase. I could feel that this is such a good book and i thought it may be an advanture story, even though i heard only the name of this bool, Lion Boy.
Also, i used to be bored with romance or horror book such as Twilight, so actually i needed a new book!

NEW VOCABULARY: 1) mend to repair somthing that has been damaged or broken

2) mushy too emotional in a way that is embarrassing

What kind of writing style and language does the writer use? Quote examples to support what you say.
It is written in such a innocent and child-like way that there is never any doubt who the book is written for. "What's wrong with me?" "Obviously this is nonsense and he is crazy, so we send him to the secure hopital." As i read these quotes, i felt that the authour tried to use easy words and be friendly with the young readers.

What i liked while i was reading.
The characters are more three-dimensional and the narrative more consistent. There is plenty of action but also a subtle subtext that will interest gifted readers. There is some interesting commentary on the wide divisions of wealth in our global community, as well as a few sly digs at the use and abuse of genetic manipulation, and the uncaring and impersonal attitude of large companies.

New words:)
-Reluctant, to give up
-Longingly, gazed

There was a mother of Tetto-chan and Totto chan was at the railroad station in the morning. They were on the way school, it's the first school to Tottochan also it is a new school to her. They met a station worker there and she was reluctant to give up the precious ticket. It's because she had hardly ever been on a train before, but then as it belongs to the railroad station, the station worker should collect all the tickets from the passengers. She therefore made a definite promise that she is going to sell railroad tickets. However, her mom was worried because the day before Totto Chan said that she is going to be a spy. I think the story will be based on this station and the worker.

My mom used to teach singing to students in Korea, but then for us, she has quitted and decided to move altogether. My brother is in grade 12 in Overseas Family School. He loves playing soccer and he will be graduated from here in this year, 2009. Next January, my whole family will visit Adelaide to send my brother to send off. However, i think i caanot go with him due to schooling which is kind of sad! :<
In the first year, i was so lonely and i was bored every weekends, since i had no friends, and wasnt good at speaking in English. However, i could progress in SPP class and could make some friends.
I was in korea during the summer holiday, YAY~~ HAHA :)
My old friends and i went to amusement park for few days, and we also went to swimming together. We had some pizzas together, and of course, we had lots of chat in cafes. We went cinemas, and shopping, and so on! It refreshed me and i didnt need for REDBULL at all! My energy was full everydays in Korea.

The right picture is when i went my friend's place for a sleeping over. Haha, but actually we didnt sleep at all, and we went outside and has taken some pictures in the rains and then we went to PC rooms, Singingroom, etc.

This is a picture of my all friends who used to hang out when i was in elementry school. We promised to meet once a year and take a picture in the same studio. We also promised to go wedding cafe (In korea, we can borrow a wedding dress for taking a photo) when we go to university. XD

After coming back to Singapore, my birthday has came on 7th of August. My friends wanted to celebrate and we went to ION new shopping centre, and we went to Clarke Quay together! They gave me presents and they brought me to a good restaurant in Clarke Quay. It was so impressed! It was one of my memorable days.
